Conditional confirmation page and email

Hi, is it possible to change the content of the confirmation page and email response depending on the value of a custom field?  For example, a custom radio button indicating if the registrant is attending the Live or the Streamed event, and then adjusting the content of the confirmation accordingly.  Would I have to use a plugin for this?
