Translate dates in emails?

Is there a way to translate the dates that appear in emails using the [EVENT_DATE] tag? Currently, I have the default language set to French, but the dates that appear in emails are showing English day and month names.

I think it should use the right language string depend on default language. Could you please give me more information:

1. Is your site multilingual or just a mono language website?

2. What's the payment method you are using for testing that registration and have the issue?

1. it's a multilingual site with French (default) and English.
2. The email I'm looking at isn't related to a payment method (it's a free event anyway), I'm just looking at the registration confirmation email. Here's what it looks like:

"Vous venez de vous inscrire à l'événement test qui aura lieu le Friday 13 January 2023 09:00. Les détails de votre inscription suivent :"

Notice the English day and Month.
