Custom fee field with x% discount

Hey there,

I'd need to offer my participants a discount (i.e. 15%) in relation to their (self picked) income-situation.
So I want to set up a custom radio button field 'Income', where people can choose from three options: low income, medium income, high income.
The overall price of the event shall then be multiplied with the discount rates for the income-group (i.e. 85%, 100%, 120%).

As far as I can see, radio button fee field currently supports only currency values (i.e. 20 €) but not percentages (-15%).

Is there any way to achieve what I intend?

As you can see, the fee values only support fixed fee value, not percent. So this is unfortunately, not possible

Hi Tuan,

I was having a look in to this today myself to see if it was possible to use a percentage in the custom fee fields.

I have situation where I have a Non-member and Member price for a range of events but it's an honor system so they just have to select if they are a member or not and they get the discount.

So currently with 7 different events I have to create 7 different custom fields to do the price adjustment so it would be handy to be able to just specify a percentage and use just one custom field.

Is that something you might consider in future?

Due to the way of custom fee fields calculated, it is quite hard to setup fee values base on percent like that.

If you set fee value to percent, what is the amount will be used to calculate the actual fee ? Just base event price ? Or it is base event price , plus fee from other fields (exclude the percentage fee fields) ? It is quite confusing because we don't know which fees should be excluded for that percent calculation

Yes I can see that would make it difficult, I guess I don't often use more than one Custom Fee field per form.

The only suggestion I could make is to have it as a simple option so it might be a separate "Discount" field, that could only be used once per form, and not together with Custom Fee Fields... so it would just calculate the percentage change on the Base price.

Thanks Nathan for your suggestion. That would make the system not flexible enough and I'm sure people would complain about it

I will think more about it. Maybe for the percent custom fee fields, we will only calculate the fee base on base price of the event (not including custom fee fields)

I will think more about it to see if I could come up with a solution. Will update you if something like that could be implemented (I think I have seen few customers asked for it before)
