Improving Smart Search

I'm trying to switch over to using Smart Search instead of Event Booking's built-in search.

Several of my events have the word dash in the title and content.

When I search "dash" I get results, but ONLY where the capitalization matches. It doesn't return any of the Events with "Dash" in them, which happens to be the most relevant ones. Is there a way to get it to ignore capitalization or to tweak the Event Booking Smart Search plugin to work better?

Alternatively/Additionally, it would help if Event Booking's built-in search would prioritize when the search term is in the title of the event.

The search is actually handled by Joomla core smart search component (com_finder), not Events Booking search plugin itself. The plugin just index the content (similar with other search plugins, it does not perform real search inside the plugin itself)

So the main question here is that have you tried with Joomla core articles to see if it works for your need?
