Waiting list behaviour when event capacity is increased was created by Phil Dawes
Could someone please explain the expected behaviour for an event which is full, has users on the waiting list and then the event capacity is increased.
I recently increased the capacity of a free event to accommodate the people on the waiting list but the status of those registrants was NOT changed from "Waiting List" to "Paid" as I had hoped. I have the "Move Registrants" plugin enabled so:
Thanks - Phil

- Should I have waited longer for something to happen?
- Does the plugin only run when a registration cancellation takes place?
Thanks - Phil

Hi Phil
People from waiting lists will only be moved to Registrants automatically when there is someone cancelled his registration (or admin cancelled his registration)
So for your case, I think you can create a fake registration record, then change the status to Cancelled to trigger this process. That would be the best option

Tuan

Hi Tuan,
Sounds like a good solution. I will try this next time. Might be nice if changing event capacity could trigger the plugin and cause registration status to be re-evaluated (Waiting List -> Registered or Registered -> Waiting List).
But all extra work, I know!

Hi Phil
Yes. There are still few items which we can work on to have waiting lists work better. But something for the future

The basic operation of waiting lists is still very helpful.
