Search Facility - Events that are not fully booked or by other keyword? was created by David Unwin
This question is probably not one that most EB users would ask for.
We have something like 15 events per day every day. Our events get booked up very quickly. It would be nice for our users to be able to search for events where the capacity is not yet filled, (where there are still places available) ? EB does not have a facility to search by as far as I know
However, do any other EB users use a search facility that can search through EB Events on the front end?
Any help would be useful

Hi David
Unfortunately, there is no searching option like that available. However, there is a workaround: You can set Unpublish Fully Booked Event config option to Yes
Then when an event is full, it will be unpublished and won't be displayed anymore
The other option is writing a plugin so that when an event is full, it will be hidden (set data for hidden field inside event to Yes) and it won't be displayed on event list anymore

Hi Tuan,
re your comment "You can set Unpublish Fully Booked Event config option to Yes. Then when an event is full, it will be unpublished and won't be displayed anymore"
I also thought about that solution. The problem with this solution is when someone cancels a booking in a "full event" so a place becomes free, the event is not automatically re-published, you have to do that manually. Am I correct in this? Would this be the same case if we wrote a plugin to hide the event?
Kind regards
David

Hi David
Yes, that's the limitation. If you write a separate plugin, maybe you can handle onRegistrationCancel event trigger, too, so that in case someone cancel, the event could be visible again
