Possible to prevent double entries to waiting list?

Hi,
Some of my users do double or triple-clicks when they join the waiting-list. Then they enter the waiting list two or three times. Can we prevent this? Maybe similar to double booking of events?

In theory, we already prevent duplicate registration for waiting list, same with standard registration

In this case, maybe the button is clicked too fast, the data for first registration has not been stored in database yet, and it causes the issue. I guess we should disable the button to prevent double click. Will see if I can handle that

I am not sure what you mean with "disable the buttion". I need the functionality as such. Do you mean "disable after the first click"? That would be fine, of course.
