Updating from 3.1.4 to 3.14

Trying to update from version 3.1.4 to 3.14.0 breaks my website. Is it too far a jump between updates?

No, it is possible to update from any version to latest version. Exactly what is the error you received? Maybe you can submit a support ticket sending us super admin account and if it is possible, FTP account of your site so that we can help you to upgrade

Unknown Column 'a.hidden' in 'where clause'

For the first issue, maybe it causes by an override
