Recalculate the invoice numbers

Is it possible to recalculate invoices numbers so only paid registrants have an invoice and numbers start from 1 uninteruptable?

That would require writing a custom script to re-generate the invoice number for your existing registrations and it will cost you 30$ for the development

What if what we need is:
1) To recreate the invoices to start at 1 without any interuptions in the numbering, keeping all existing generated invoices even if they are canceled.
2) to have one more invoice state, "Refunded". And one more template for refunded invoices were the numbering starts from 1 and there is a mention to the original invoice number?
