The username you entered is invalid

I saw my username in the dropdown box but got this error message when I tried to complete. I am using ebregister plugin. joomla 1.5.22 and I just downloaded EB so it is current.

Please enter information in the form below to process registration for event First Coast Global Day of Prayer 2011.

* If you have an account already, just enter username and the system will assign this registration to your account
* If you don't hanve an account and want to register for an account, please enter username and password. We will create an account for you .
* If you don't want to register for an account, leave the usernamd and password fields empty

Hi

I think you entered a username which registered by someone before, so the system shows that message. Please note that :

If you has an account already and want to map the registration record to your account, you can simply enter the username into the username textbox . If you enter password into password textbox, the system will think that you want to register for a new account and It will show the errors because the username was in the system already .

tried that. ran a test for a new user & all good. when I enter my user "edugger" form defaults to password in pw box. can't just continue, form requires I confirm password then asks for first name and so on. I tired several times to just enter username, no go. thanks for the help ., I am working thru it., you can ignoremy support ticket 892 I think. I will close it out.

perhaps you could test it. my user is edugger

went one farther & probably have it figured out. username & all the red star fields too. worked for my alter ego username . tks emmett
