Waiting List Feature - Use for Provisional Booking was created by David Unwin
We have some events where we would like people to register their interest in an event and be put on a 'waiting list'. The idea is that we would run an event if we had more than 20 people interested. So, the idea would be to set up an event and let people register, but do not take them through any payment process. Once we see there is sufficient interest, we then open the event up for people to book.
Is there a way we could use the 'Waiting list' feature to achieve this??

Hello David
There is a workaround. You can create the event with capacity = 1, then added yourself as a registrant to make the event become full
Then other users can join the waiting list of the event as you want

Hi Tuan
Yes, I thought of that myself. I was hoping that I could set capacity to 0 (zero) and then create child events. But setting capacity to 0 actually means no capacity is set. So, I think we will have to set it to 1 then go through parent and child events and register. Then when we open up the event set the capacity to what we want and unsubscribe myself. A bit of a long way around...but it should work.
Thanks
David
