adding custom fields and 'mapping' them to user component

I notice that when a registrant chooses to be registered for an event, some info is pre-loaded, like their name and email from the User component. Is there a way to add custom fields to the Events and also to the User component and 'map' them so that the info appears in each?

Yes. You can use this plugin from Events Booking eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/basic-s...#joomla-user-profile , then you can map fields between Events Booking and the fields in user component to have the data pre-populated as you want
