This is for milwaukeeyc.com. In the time of COVID, they have reopened their pool, but on a reservation basis to allow for distancing. I set up a calendar with a repeating daily event. There are four time blocs, with a registration capacity of 10. Generally all is working great.
However, users don't always want to plan ahead.
They want to be able to reserve on the same day for a time slot later in the same day.
Something is preventing that.
I can't find where the setting might be.
It is odd because I can make a same-day reservation in the morning for the afternoon. But at some point in time I become unable to make the same-day reservation.
Where is the setting which is cutting off same-day reservations?
How do I make this work is a recurring event?
Why as I said do same-day reservations work in some cases but not in others.
Thanks!

FYI I attempted to fix this in the following way.
I edited the parent event.
I set the reservation cutoff for same day, event start time.
I checked the box to "update children events."
The cutoff date and time did not propagate.
When I check the child events, they don't have a cutoff date and time.
So this approach has to be ruled out.
What else could be going on?
Thanks,

I should also mention that in setting up the four parent events, I originally left the cutoff date and time fields blank, figuring that by doing that people would be able to reserve right up to the event start time. It didn't work, however. Somewhere a cutoff time is being implemented by an unknown setting.

Hello

Maybe something special causing the issue. Usually, if no cut off date is set, the system will allow registration until the event started (so when current time is smaller than event date time, registration will still be possible)

Is it not working like that on your site? Or you want to allow register event after event started? If so, the only solution is set cut off date

That's right. It's not working. Even though I set it up how you suggest.
Since we have two months' worth of daily recurrences, I didn't want to manually add cutoff date and time. Lots of labor.
So I went back to the parent event, added the cutoff date and time, checked the box to update all child events.
They didn't update.
None acquired cutoff date and time.
Is there a solution?
Am I doing something wrong?

Hello

For this, I will have to check it directly on your site. So please submit a support ticket sending us:

- Super admin account of the site
- Tell me ID of the parent event
- Tell me the cut off date you want to set

I will check to see why it's not working and find a solution

I will do that now.
What I found with some testing is this.
The "time factor" is two hours and 50 minutes.
People can reserve on the same day up to two hours and 49 minutes ahead of start time. One minute later than that, it no longer works.
To allow reservation right up to event start time, I have to set the cutoff time for two hours and 50 minutes AFTER event start.
I did this for our events today and it does work, but it's going to look confusing to user maybe.
As I said, I can't see where the 2 hours and 50 minute time factor is located.
This is an unusual case in that these people want to have everything done for them.
The office manager is taking reservations by phone and then doing data entry.
I thought of one possibility.
The system is rejecting duplicate reservations?
But I turned that off at the configuration level and in the individual event.
It didn't matter.
We still had the same issue.
So I doubt that is it.
It is very mysterious.
A workaround might be to hide cutoff date and time, but I don't see where to do that.

Hi

I checked your site and I believe the error happens because you are using wrong timezone (UTC) on your site.

Go to System -> Global Configuration, change Website Time Zone config option to your timezone should solve the issue

Thank you, I will make the update. Will it mess with all our event times? Will they all need to be redone?

Hi

No, it won't. As long as the event date and time is configured base on your timezone (not UTC timezone), it will work well
