Custom Fields and Categories was created by timber
I want to create two event categories: "free events" and "paid events".
For paid events I need to collect from the registrant many informations, like address, city, a.s.o. ... all that is needed for a proper invoice.
For free events I only need "name" and "email" and maybe "languages".
What's the easiest way to create different registration forms for these two event categories?
(If I got it right, in the custom fields settings, I can configure a field (like "address") to show up only (or to hide only) on a specified individual event. That would mean, each time I create a new FREE event, I must go back to the custom fields dialog and add the new event to the properties of all the fields that I want to disable? Wouldn't it be more elegant to solve this with categories, so when I create a new event, I tag it with the category "free events" and it's done ...?)

Hello
1. Go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set Assign Custom Fields To Category Instead Of Events config option to Yes
2. Now when you add/edit a custom field, you can select the categories you want instead of having to select the events
That would address your concern perfectly

It would be even more helpful, if there was also the possibility to apply a certain field to "All categories except ...". Similar as it is possible with events if you chose to use it the other way (default in setting).

Thanks @timber for your suggestion. It is not possible now, but we will try to support it in future releases of the extension
