Transparent background (instead of white) for events view in frontend?

Hello, the template i use for my website uses white letters on dark background.
When i display events (upcoming events / event details) they appear with a white background.
So I have white letters on white background, that means you cannot read the text at all.
What's the easiest way to change the background to transparent?
