Strange, Baffling Issue With Registration Labels was created by jgribble
We have four events. I created a master event, got it working, then copied it three times and configured the times separately. It is a recurring daily event. Except for the times, the four events are identical.
Yet, only the first three consistently show the customized messages by which things are labeled. The fourth reverts to some kind of unknown default labeling, which is not present in the message master fields or the language file.
So why do only the first three work?
Why do the fourth and five etc. not work?
Even more baffling is this: The issue seems to be limited to Individual Registration message. When user does Group Registration, he sees the correct message. It is only when user does Individual Registration that the wrong message is displayed.
Also, attempts to use the plan-level messages, overriding the default, are proving to be highly problematic. It just doesn't work. I should be able to create a plan and customize the messages just for that plan. However we find that the plan still shows default messages, no matter what.
Since all these plans are copies, a configuration error doesn't seem likely.
In one instance we see the message "Registration Form message individual." Yet that language is not present anywhere I can find. I can't find where it might be coming from. I even tried to do a Joomla language override. Joomla can't find the verbiage.
In the other three instances we see the message "You are signing up for Pool Reservations." This is the correct source message I created. Why would our fourth plan ignore it, and instead show some kind of default language of unknown origin?
Thanks,
-JG

May have to do with propagation of edits downward to child events. I think I know how to fix. Please stand by.

Hello
Maybe it's because the event has same alias with one of other event which does not have custom message. To prevent that kind of error, maybe you can go to Events Booking -> Configuration, look at SEF Router Settings tab, find the config option Insert Event ID, set it to Yes and try again

Thanks for the tip. It will probably help. I think it more has to do with recurring events. When you go back and edit the parent, it's tricky to get everything to work with the child events. But I think I've figured out the secret. Turn on event recur ONLY after you're happy with how everything looks and works!
