Desired registrant export file output

My client has requested that custom fields be configured to simply print an ‘X’ in an Excel export file to indicate selection of a specific choice. This is an example of their desired form and output:

Perhaps I’m being dense here, but I haven’t been able to configure custom or conditional fields to provide the expected output. Do you have any suggestion or is this output not possible?

After pounding the conditionals a bit more, I was able to solve this by using Hidden conditional fields that contained a default value of 'X'.
