Course Cancellations and Email Notifications?? was created by KThackston
Hi Tuan:
I imagine a lot of people are running into this issue with Covid-19. We need to cancel all of our classes and notify all the registrants. There is no easy way to cancel an entire course and send a single auto email to everyone registered that the course has been cancelled.
Additionally, when I try to send a mass email to registrants, I have no way of know whether or not they went out. I have log emails turned on, but it doesn't seem to log these emails. I included myself as a BCC on one of the emails and I did not get it, so I don't think it's working.
Do these features exists? If so, where do I access them?
Thanks in advance. I am running the latest versions of both Joomla and your component.

Hello
The email, actually delivered by the mail server of your hosting provider. Please also note that most hosting providers limit number of emails can be sent per hour (for example, to 150 emails)
So if your event has many registrants (exceed the limit), not all registrants will receive email.
The email should be logged. As there are two methods for sending mass mails:
- eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/registr...ass-mail-registrants
- eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/registr...selected-registrants
Could I ask what method you are using so that I can check to see why emails are not logged?

Hi Tuan,
I used the first method of email by selecting the class, eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/registr...ass-mail-registrants
There were less than 15 registrants for each event, so it cannot be email overload. But as I previously pointed out, the emails are not registering as being sent at all. Here is a screen of all my email logs for events.
It appears to only be logging registrations and reminder emails, but no mass emails.
I definitely need to get this working.
But I would also suggest that there needs to be an additional email function that is part of the backend for when a course gets canceled: a new tab under 'Emails and Messages' called Course Cancellation, with an option on the Events to cancel the course and notify registrants.
Thanks
Katherine

Hi Katherine
I just tested and see that mass mail is logged. So maybe it's a problem with how you are sending the mass mail
Could you please submit a support ticket sending us:
- Super admin account of the site
- Tell me the event which you want to send mass mail
We will check to see why email is not logged and guide you to correct it
A function for cancelling event should be supported in the future
Regards,
Tuan

Event cancellation, front end notification graphic with announcement would be a great feature.
I've looked for this before.
Thanks...

Will try to support cancelling event in the future. Do you have any idea how a cancelled event should be displayed?

I would try to put something layered over the event like "CANCELLED" in red
