Event ended before it began. Time Zone?

Hello. My event states:

"We are no longer accepting registration for this event"

but it doesn't begin until tonight! Note: We did not set a cut-off date for this event...

HOWEVER!

If we set the cut-off date to tomorrow, the event goes back up for sale.

Does the component not consider the TIME of day? Or is this an issue with TIME ZONES?

We need people to be able to register up to the last minute.

I figured it out. Yes, it had to do with Hostgator server. I had to edit the php.ini file in the root directory.
