custom field validation rules

my club runs events that can vary from 2 to 14 days long.
my members can attend these events for any length of time within this range.
i have created 2 custom fields for the member to say when they would arrive and when they would leave.
i would like to be able to validate the selected dates to confirm that they are within the date range of the event itself.

is this possible?

Unfortunately, it's not possible. Right now, the system does not support that kind of validation
