Waiting List Questions

We're thinking about using the Waiting List and I'm trying to find some good documentation on it.
I understand it now accepts payments (Request Payment Button).
If one spot becomes available and we send that email to 5 people on the wait list is it restricted so only the first person to pay is able to register?
Can the Wait List Request Payment be administered from the Front End?
Does the Move Plugin still only work for free events?
I'm wondering if anyone has done a plugin which mails everyone in the waiting list and says there's a spot free, pay now - first to pay gets the spot.
Also in testing a potential bug. We have the global Activate Waiting List disabled. When we enable it for one event we don't get the option to Request Payments.
Thanks

=> Yes, that's correct. But if these users perform the registration almost at the same time (for example, within one second), the system won't be able to handle it. The system only prevents next registration after the first person completing the registration
Can the Wait List Request Payment be administered from the Front End?
=> Yes
Does the Move Plugin still only work for free events?
=> It works for both free and paid events. However, somehow, you will have to find a way to handle payment for the registrants who moved automatically from waiting list to paid manually somehow. We don't have a way for these users to make payment after being moved from waiting list to paid registrants yet
Also in testing a potential bug. We have the global Activate Waiting List disabled. When we enable it for one event we don't get the option to Request Payments.
=> This is a special case. It can be fixed but will slow down the system abit (we can query database of all events to check but as you can see, it will be slower than just checking the config option value to show the button). So for now, we will just leave it as how it's

thanks for that information.
One more question, with waiting list enabled and payment links enabled, does it automatically send out emails to everyone on the waiting list when a spot becomes available, or is the sending of emails a manual process?
Thanks,
Russell

It will send email to everyone in waiting list when there is a registrant cancel his registration (or admin change status of a registration record to cancelled)
If you increase the capacity of the event, then the email won't be sent

Am I correct that this is a relatively new development?
"It will send email to everyone in waiting list when there is a registrant cancel his registration (or admin change status of a registration record to cancelled)"
Is it possible to prevent notifications going out if an admin cancels the registrant in the backend? If you could hint which php file this is in or make it an option in the system.
Thanks
