Show subcategory events? was created by Melissa
I'm feeling a little dumb at the moment: I want to use a module to show events that are in a sub-category only but I can't find the subcategory in the module list. The documentation suggests it's as simple as entering the category ID in, but apparently not. How do I get the sub-categories to show in the module list or show the upcoming events in the sub-category only?
Thanks,
Melissa

So to be more clear, you want to display events from certain categories? Or you want to display certain categories in the module and allow users to click on to see events from that category?

I want to use the Module style event listing to show a list of events that are in a subcategory.
My events are courses: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 & Level 4 <- the parent categories. Choosing the Module button allows the events in the parent category to show. But I have some courses which are sub-categories: Level 2 Bridgeland, Level 2 Capitol Hill <- I want to list them separately, in the same format the parent category shows.
But the module box doesn't show me sub-categories, only the parent.
Does that make sense?

Honestly, it's still not very clear to me. Maybe you can submit a support ticket sending us:
1. Super admin account of your site
2. Link to the page which the module is being displayed at the moment
3. Tell me exactly how you want to change it
I will check your setup to understand your request and hopefully, come up with a solution

Here's how I set up these events:
Bridgeland & Capitol Hill are Level 2 courses with the PARENT category of Level 2.
But when I load the module for Level 2, it only shows courses that are in the PARENT category, not the sub-categories.
When I go into the module button, there isn't an option for sub-categories, only the parent.
How can I make these sub-category courses show like the ones in the parent category?
You'll have to talk me through this, because I can't give you access easily due to restrictions on IP.

Hi Melissa
Click on the module to edit, you will see a parameter called Categories IDs. Instead of entering ID of parent category only, you need to enter ID of both parent and children categories (comma separated) like 1,4,5,9 and it should work fine
Could you please try?

Ah, I didn't know where to find the module set up! I was able to add the subcategory ID to the Level 2 module and now it works.
Thanks.
