Early bird discount not applied to fee field

I have a $25 early bird discount set, which applies fine to tickets.

However, I have a field for "Guest Meals". It is a NUMBER field, Fee field, and Discountable. The Fee formula is [FIELD_VALUE]*250 ($250 is the non-Early Bird price). When I add a number to the registration there is no Early Bird discount applied.

Am I misunderstanding what the Toggle "Discountable" does?

Look like you want the early bird discount to be applied to each fee field, too? If so, it's not supported

The Discountable setting of a custom field is used to determine whether discount calculation for that field will be used for:

- Coupon Discount
- Members Discount

Early Bird DISCOUNT. Why is this NOT applied?

The scenario is this:

In addition to regular registrations, the client offers the ability for registrants to purchase extra meal tickets for guests (to attend meals only not the entire conference). These extra meal tickets are subject to an Early Bird discount. Is there, currently, no way to do this? Surely I can't be the only one that has a need for custom fields to get an Early Bird discount.

So far, you are the only one need this feature. If you need to offer early bird discount for now, you will have to use early bird price for the field at the moment and then set it to normal price when you want

How hard is it to apply the general discount logic to Early Bird (so that it will apply to custom fee fields if Discountable is set to yes)?

We won't be able to do that for now. It's quite complicated (if we have to apply the discount to every custom fee fields), it changes behavior, so it might make existing sites break

Just want to add that this functionality, should it ever happen, would be extremely useful to me as well.

Our primary event (a conference) has 5 ticket levels, but each registration is only allowed one ticket. So I can't use the ticket field because as far as I can see, there's no way to restrict a registrant to selecting a single ticket from only one of the offered tiers (Full 3-day OR Full 1-Day...not 1 of each). I've used a custom field to get around this, but that means I can't use the early bird feature. I have to manually go in and adjust ticket prices in that custom field on the day early bird ends.

If a tick box on custom fields for "apply earlybird to this field" were added, that would be amazing! Alternatively, adjusting the ticket setup to allow the option of only choosing one ticket across all ticket possibilites would be fab too.
