Assign a language to a subscriber? was created by Karel Beukema toe Water
Hello,
Would it be possible to assign a language to a subscriber throughout the regsitration event admin process?
I have a setup for an international event where subscribers can register in 4 different languuages. All messages and texts have been customised to ensure that a subscriber will be able to communicate with EB only in the language of his choice. It's a lot of work setting the thing up but everything seems to work so far.
However, the admin process of managing registrants only takes place in one of the languages -as the admin personnel are locals who prefer to work in their own language. For that I have made a "Manage Registrants" Menu choice in the front end of the admin native language and assigned access rights to the persons concerned. What happens now, is that when a registrant has registered in -say- French and his subscription is managed from -say- a Dutch admin account, the registrant will receive a "Your payment has been approved" E-mail message in Dutch rather than the language he registered in (French in my example).
My question is whether there is a possibility to assign a particular language to a subscriber when he registers, and keep that language assigned to that subscriber all the way through the process. So, in my example, a French subscriber should then receive French admin messages only, regardless of the language that happens to have been used by the Manage Registrants administrator.
Would there be a way to make such a thing work?
Thanks.
Karel

Hi Karel
If it works like that, I would say that it's wrong. If he registered for the event using French language, he should receive email message in French language, not Dutch
If you have a reliable way for us to re-procedure the issue, please submit a support ticket sending us:
- Super admin account
- An account which can be used to manage registrants and see that error
- ID of the registration record which is having the error
We are going to check to see what's wrong and get it sorted
Regards,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,
There is no big issue since I have found a proper workaround.
Registrants will receive messages in their own chosen language in the vast majority of the cases. I have carefully edited and prepared the content of all those messages in the different languages.
The issue at hand here, is when an adminstrator starts managing registrants from his chosen language version of the website.
The database table called (in my case) jos_eb_messages contains a message key called ""registration_accepted_email_body". There are three other versions of that same message key, each with their own language suffix.
An administrator working from a Dutch version of the Site who changes the Status of a French entry from Pending to Paid will cause an email to be sent to the French registrant with the content of the "registration_accepted_email_body_nl-nl" message key, instead of that of the "registration_accepted_email_body_fr" key.
I have amended the content of the "registration_accepted_email_body_nl-nl" message key to have greetings, text and conclusions in all four languages. This will be sufficient in my case -people in Europe are quite used to receiving multilingual messages.
So I will leave this as it is for now.
Thank you.
Regards,
Karel
