Just started using Event Booking today so please forgive the stupid questions. First of all how do you access the actual site. I can enter information in the backend all day long but can't find any way to access the fronted, Have entered a few events and locations but have no idea if anything is working. Been a long day and maybe I'm simply too tired. I installed Joomla in a sub directory (
www.mydomain.com/mcevents
) and used the Joomla installer to install Event Booking. Been looking for a way to look at the actual website but can't find anything on how to access the site. I'm thinking it is possible somewhere at
www.mydomain.com/mcevents/components/com_eventbooking/something
else!
Another concern is the way a location has to be entered. I'm concerned that having the locations in the database may become impossible to do. Our site publishes over 30,000 events each year. Almost every one is at a unique location. In effect, by the end of the year we could have nearly 30,000 locations in the system. NOBODY is going to scroll through 30,000 entries to find the location they need. This sounds like it is going to be a serious problem for us.
OK, it's my first day at this so I hope I'm just missing the obvious answers but I thought I'd ask before I pull the rest of my hair out.
Thanks
Dale

Hello Dale
1. First of all, you will need some experience with Joomla! to get the system setup and running. To allow users from frontend of your site to access to your events, you will have to create a menu item. There are few menu options to use, but I suggest to use upcoming events timeline layout for now. See eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/frontend-items/upcoming-events . If you don't know how to setup it, submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site so that I can help with the setup
2. About location: At the moment, we don't really have a way to allow easily selecting location. So when you add event, you will have to select the correct location for that event. If it's needed, I am afraid of some customization to the code will be needed so that you can add location for your event directly on add/edit event screen (so that you won't have to select it from long list of location). But that will require some fees for the development
Honestly, we din't prepare to handle the case when there are too many locations like that in the system

I figured out the front End problem. I feel Like an idiot once I realized how to do it.
Will need to think about the location problem. It's not too good the way it is now.

I'm glad you figured the frontend problem. Guess it's you haven't had much experience with Joomla! yet.
Please continue to setup the extension and if you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask
Regards,
Tuan
