Show Custom Fee Fields in cart was created by Andrew
I need Custom Fee Fields in the shopping cart so they can be selected for each event prior to checkout. (I have a single select dropdown which adds a cost depending on the selection at the checkout so the functionality is working.)
Is there a setting for this?
Regards,
Andrew

I found a disabled plugin Events Booking - Fee Fields Generator which I enabled. I can't find any documentation yet but it looks like this may be the solution.

Tuan,
I don't think this is possible without modifying the cart, so at the moment on an event page I can;
1. Add one adult to the cart for each event with a set price.
2. On checkout, add additional adults, children, seniors etc, with different prices along with extra options which are all added with custom fee fields.
This all works but is no good for my application as I need people to add multiple tickets to multiple events along with other options as simply as possible and have a running total in their cart as they go, then visit checkout once and pay.
I have Eshop too so maybe a good solution is to integrate events into the Eshop cart and have all of the options as products.
Please let me know your thoughts on this as I need to get this up and running ASAP.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew
Go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set Collect Members Information in Group Registration to Yes
Then you can create custom field to allow choosing these options for each members (Set Display In of the fields to Group Member Form so that it won't be displayed in Billing Information section)
Then check it again to see whether it works

Tuan,
Thanks, I can't find "Collect Members Information in Group Registration" in Events Booking -> Configuration, I tried many combinations of the settings and can't seem to make this work.
On this site one person books multiple tickets, and I only collect the details from that one person. on an individual event page, I have;
Event Properties
Starts Saturday January 5th 2019 10:30
Ends Saturday January 5th 2019 17:00
Price Adult: €30,00,Child: €20,00,Senior:€25,00,Lunch: €10,00
And the register button which I renamed Add to Cart
I need a dropdown selection preferably in Event Properties, which will also appear in the cart, and checkout
Adult quantity
Child quantity
Senior quantity
Lunch quantity
There could be several more options with prices for a different event.
Please can you confirm if this is possible or not so I can decide the best way forward. I know I can achieve this with the Eshop cart as I have built several sites that use Eshop and have no problem integrating it into Event Booking if that's an option and the best solution.

Andrew

Hi Andrew
The config option is Collect members information in shopping cart. Try to set it to Yes, then setup custom field like I said and check the result to see whether it works as expected

Tuan,
I tried that and it makes no difference, in the cart there is still only one price and a quantity which you can change, the options and prices still appear at the checkout.
Should the plugin Events Booking - Fee Fields Generator be enabled or disabled?
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Andrew
1. The Events Booking - Fee Fields Generator does not have any usage here
2. The idea behind that config option is that when you enable it, the system will allow you to collect members information in shopping cart mode. So if you enter quantity 2 for one event for example, you can enter data for 2 members during checkout process
Base on that, you can create custom fee option and choose it for each members which you register. If it does not work for your need, I am afraid of we don't have any other options here

Tuan

To be more clear, when you enable that option, it will work almost the same way with group registration when you can collect members information. The only difference is that you can register for multiple events within one checkout

Tuan,
OK thanks, Event Booking is great for repeat events that occur weekly on multiple days all year, the layouts and calendars are brilliant, and they work well on mobile which on this site is 65% of traffic.
It's very easy to use configure, and customize everything except the cart. This is only because the situation on this site is more complicated than normal. If you don't use the cart, it just works without taking much time at all to configure.
I tried Artio Booking and it's way over complicated compared with this and their support is absolutely useless. I planned on integrating that into the Eshop cart until I discovered Event Booking.
I just built a new Eshop site for another client, and am very impressed with that component too, I've built and managed many virtuemart sites over the last ten years or so and it's far too complicated compared to Eshop. I know it's free but you can easily spend a few days sorting out the front end display where as with Eshop it took around an hour to make the site presentable.
I'm looking at using Eshop for the Event Booking Cart today, so in the event properties the Eshop product will be the event tickets, each with additional options, then checkout will be handled by Event Booking.
If you think this will not be possible due to conflicts or have any advice regarding this please let me know.
Regards,
Andrew
