How do you install a new theme?

What's the template you are talking about? If it's Joomla template, then you can follow Joomla ! documentation to install it docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Installing_a_template

Sorry, new theme !

Not sure where you get theme? Currently, we don't have any other theme available, so not sure where do you get the theme to install?

I want to duplicate the default theme, to make some changes and not lose the original theme

You just need to implement the change using template override, for example, if you want to modify the file components/com_eventbooking/themes/default/common/events_timeline.php , then copy that file to PATH_TO_TEMPLATE/html/com_eventbooking/common folder and do the modification from there

If you still want to make new theme, then create that theme, zip it, then go to Events Booking -> Themes to install it. Then make that new theme as default theme

Please note that system fall back to default theme, so if you need to create new theme, just add the layout you want to modify into that new theme, not including everyone so that if we modify something in default theme in the future, it will still be available on your site

I would suggest you to use template override instead of creating new theme. We support theme so that third party developers can develop new themes for Events Booking only

For end-users, just use template override will be enough and is our recommended way for customizing layout of the extension
