Recuring events layout in upcoming events displays was created by Geoffrey Smith
Seem like it either feast or famine with the recurring events display! You either get everything or nothing. what I would like to be able to do is have a small block at the top of the upcoming events display that simply shows one entry for parent recurring event. Clicking into it would then allow the user to select from a drop-down of dates to register for the event, or even have this dropdown in the recurring event block display!
Other non-recurring events would then be displayed beneath the recurring event block.
I hope this makes sense.

Hello
Please go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set Show children events date under parent events config option to Yes
Then check it again to see whether it works as you want

Thanks I have done that and made the recurring event a featured event and it now displays as a single event at the top of the event list

Thanks, and it is starting to look a lot better!
I have taken a screenshot and marked up two areas of concern. You can see the screenshot here cl.ly/35ba56https://cl.ly/35ba56
I think it would also help if all the images were reduced to the same dimensions either square or letterbox - that might also help with the layout as well.
Thanks for your help
Geoffrey
