CRITICAL ERROR - Call to a member function getName() on null

A couple of things you can check while you wait for the Devs to see your post:
1) Do you have any overrides created in /Templates/*YOUR*TEMPLATE*/html/com_eventbooking/? Rename this com_eventsbooking folder and test to see if that fixes the problem. If it does, then you'll have to narrow down which override.
2) On my site, payment options looks like it loads after Final Cost. Check each of your payment plugins to make sure that the proper info in entered in each one. Maybe an update accidentally cleared some info or new info is required. Make sure you have a payment plugin(s) specified too. I can see at a code level that there are several calls to getName in various payment-related files. Do you use a custom payment plugin? Maybe that needs updating?

@Tuan will undoubtedly have better insight into specific reasons that this error could show up...

Thanks guys. Had the same error and it was due to having no plug published.

I've now got this error on my site when I click register (individual registration): www.germanwithnicole.com/german-tutoring . The payment plugins are working and someone could register successfully this morning, but now although I haven't changed anything and there have been no updates, it doesn't work properly.

This is the "category" listing using the syntax {ebcategory 9} and the plugin "Content - Events Booking Category" is enabled. This is the first time I've used it, and would like to keep using it.

What shall I do?

It could be something wrong with the payment plugin settings. Maybe you choose the payment methods for category/event but now it is unpublished/not available and it causes the error. Please submit a support ticket so that we can check it directly on your site and get the issue sorted

Hi Tuan!
I checked the payment methods for the category and they hadn't yet been selected. I selected the one I need and now the error is gone and the registration form appears as expected.

Normally, you do not need to select payment methods in category/event. Just set Payment Methods to All Payment Methods (by default) and all published payment methods will be available for the event.
