I have a use case and hoping it's somehow possible:

I want to set up 2 events (courses actually) that people can sign up for individually BUT if they choose to sign up for both can get a discount on the total cost.

The only way I can think of doing this manually is to create a 3rd event that combines the two into one. The only trouble with this is having to manage multiple registrant lists and the capacity cap will not be accurate.

I'm hoping there is some way to do this using the discount code feature somehow.

Thanks!

POSTED TOO SOON: I just found the "Discount Bundle" feature in the documentation.

Just so I understand. This discount bundle only works if

a) The shopping cart feature is enabled OR
b) The user is logged in

In the case of user being logged in would they have to register and pay for event #1 first then go back and register for event #2 where the discount is applied? Would the discount then take into consideration the price of both events or the second one only?

Hi

The discount amount is fixed amount like 10$, so it doesn't depends on any events. In your example, the discount amount will be added to second event only

Tuan

Thanks for clarifying the discount type ($), Tuan.

Am I correct in what the user experience is if the cart feature is NOT enabled:
  1. The user would register for event 1
  2. Complete the payment for it
  3. Go back to register for event 2
  4. The discount gets triggered and they will see a lower price for event 2
  5. They complete payment for event 2
If this is the case, it seems enabling the shopping cart feature would be less work for the person signing up.

Yes. That's correct. And I agree that enable shopping cart will make it easier for users to register for two events and get discount
