Fee Formula Stops Working

I have a custom text field being used in one of our events that works for awhile, but after other changes are made on the event, it stops calculating. It's for add-on raffle tickets that a registrant can optionally add to their registration, so the text field is set to check for an Integer Number - validate[custom[integer]].

The calculation is [FIELD_VALUE]*5.

If I reinstall the component, it begins working again. I'm not sure what the factors are that makes it stop working, but it doesn't take long. Any ideas?

I would say that it's a strange issue. Maybe it happens because you are using cache on your site? If so, try to disable cache to see whether the issue happens again?
