Change Event Properties per Category

I'm pretty sure the answer is "no" to this questions, but is there already a way to change the event properties section based on the category of event?

For example, I have events that are scheduled with registration required. So the headings work fine that I have set up. However, I also have "general" events that are "all day" events that don't require registration. I would like to relabel the event details for these events.

I know I can script this in the event_properties.php file, but figured I'd ask first since scripting this could get messy.
