Process Registration, go to PayPal site, browser back button... problem? was created by Rick
Hi again Tuan,
I created a test registration using PayPal as the payment method, clicked Process registration which took me to the PayPal website but I meant to do an off-line payment and clicked the browser Back button (using Chrome in this case). That generated a system message (file below 'Error when browser back button at PayPal.jpg) and when I clicked Back again I was at a page of blank custom fields that define my registration form. So the user would think that their registration info was all lost.
But on the back-end in Registrants, that registration is captured and shows PayPal as the payment method, but no receipt (file 'EB Registrants after PayPal back browser')
I'm not sure the best way to handle this but can delete the registration in the backend. Is this something that can be fixed in EB?
Thanks, Rick

Nothing can be fixed here. Please note that the Pending record which uses PayPal as payment method won't be counted as valid registrant and by default, it won't be shown in Registrants List. If you don't want these kind of records being shown, you can go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set Show Incomplete Payment Records config option to No

Hi Tuan,
Thanks for the quick response. From the perspective of the person registering who might do this it will appear that their registration wasn't processed so they will do it again correctly.
Your advice about not showing Pending records using PayPal is appreciated - I'll change that setting.
Cheers, Rick

Hi Tuan,
A follow-up question about this one. The first time I crashed-out of a PayPal payment from the PayPal login website was because I clicked the browser back button to go back to the EB registration, which generated a message saying the information needed to be reloaded, which I skipped. And the result was a partial registration in EB, and for the person registering it looked like the registration info was lost.
In another (accidental) test I selected PayPal and clicked Process Registration, then at the PayPal login page I clicked the button ton the PayPal form o return to the original website. EB then cancelled the registration and presented a registration cancelled message.
This second scenario is potentially an issue as the user might want to use Offline Payment but overlooked it, and gone onto the PayPal site by default, realised their mistake, then tried to gracefully return to the filled-in registration only to find it had been cancelled.
In this situation can a graceful return be done to the filled-in regstration form at the state before Process Registration is clicked? Is that a future feature request?
Thanks, Rick
