Core Field First Name & Last Name was created by LAC Webadmin
Hi Tuan,
The core field First Name & Last Name is auto filled with the user's name when they are logged in, how do I change that behavior to use another field?
I am creating a registration form for Camping and the Parent/Guardian is the one registering their children, so I would create Parent/Guardian Name. But when the parent is logged in, the field should be auto filled. How do I do that? I don't see an option when editing First/Last Name fields.
Also, I wish you created an ability to create a field Group, maybe someday.
Thanks,
Jackson

Hi Jackson
Unfortunately, first_name and last_name will be auto populated by data from the name of logged in user, no way to change it. If it's important for you, you can only turn off this auto popular option. Go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set Auto Populate Registration Form Data config option to No

Tuan

Hi Tuan,
I wish you would reconsider or add a functionality that would cater to events that would ask or need specific field label for Names. I know that first and last name is how straight forward it should be but for events like Camping. To not confuse end users for fields that are for Parents/Guardian First and Last Name vs Student First & Last Name. If we use First Name & Last Name field label, it does not distinguish what we asking.
Maybe, a check box in the Name fields that says something like Auto Populate from Account. If checked, it does auto populate the field from the account like what currently is.
Of course, I want the auto populate feature so I cannot turn that off, I am asking for option instead.
Thanks,
Jackson

Honestly, we could not have everything as an option in the extension as we will end up with thousand of option. I will monitor request from customers, if there are few more customers need it, I will try to support it in the future

Hi Tuan,
You already have tons of options in EB
a few more that makes sense does not hurt I guess. And besides, application like this ought to have a complex settings and it seems to me you designed it to work in different event scenarios.
Fair enough!
I just can't believe no one from your clients asked this feature yet and just use the defaults.
Thanks,
Jackson
