Careful with Coupons

For some reason coupons use is based on the number of times you check out not the number of events it is used for, so if you have the shopping cart enabled you could be losing lots of money without knowing it.

For example, lets say you host daily events and enable the cart. Users can prepay for 10 events and get a coupon code to use 10 times. They go to your site and register for 10 events by placing them in the cart, the discount is applied to all the events in the cart (10 times) however under coupon usage in the admin area, you will see 9 of 10 remaining. They could repeat this and get 81 extra uses out of a coupon intended for 10 uses.

They know about this but claim it is too hard to fix... Really?

To be more clear, I just don't want to change existing behavior which has been there from long time ago and it could cause unexpected behavior for our existing customers

That's why I suggested to implement it as an override on your site (I sent you modified version for using before so that you can use and confirm that it works in the way you want before I implement it as override)
