Show sub categories in Category module?

Is there a way to show the subcategories in the category module?

I actually duplicated it, renamed it, and discover installed my own version, and I've got the subs showing, but it's just dumping the list in order of ID. I'd love to figure out how to cross check them and nest the subs under the parent. If anyone knows a way to do that in PHP, I'd love to know.

An update to this, I got this working. I required some changes to the core module files of the category module, so it's a completely new module, but it IS working. Tuan if you want a copy let me know, in case it's something you want to add to your current category module.

Here's the actual module. It's not made with an installer so you'd have to use discover to install it I think. Also, the number of events is a bad and the css classes are for uikit, so you'd have to mod that, but I added a switch so you can turn on and off showing the sub categories. Very handy!

I just realized the module wasn't generating the correct urls for the sub categories, here's a fixed version.
