Old events still in Google SERPs

We run the same events annually & have been using Eventbooking for several years now.

We've noticed that past years' events are still showing in Google results, even though they're unpublished/deleted.

Requests to remove the URLS in Google webmaster tools fail because Google thinks the page still exists.

This seems to be because, instead of 404ing, the links now go to an events category page at:

My-site/index.php?option=com_eventbooking&Itemid=119

How do we remove past events from Google please?

Hello Kev

Might happens because you are using quite old version of Events Booking. Update your site to latest version of Events Booking, then check it again

These pages will throw 404 error and it should be possible to have it removed
