Hi,

I have been trying to test out my event booking checkout/registration process through Paypal's sandbox account, but I have been hitting a few issues. The normal Paypal method is working fine,but when I try to use the Paypal pro plugin, I get registration errors every time I fill in the details and hit register.

The error I get back is a read error starting: [curl] 56: SSL read: errno -5961

I am trying to get to the bottom of the error, but i cannot find much documentation on it. I have tried to contact paypal to see if it is an access issue to the sandbox account, but I have had no reply as of yet, so I thought I would also see if it may be an issue with anything within event bookings access settings. Has anybody else come across this issue? Do you know of any ways to work around it?

Hi Daniel

Could you please install this updated library (Go to Extensions -> Manage -> Install to install it) and try again to see whether the issue sorted?

Hi Tuan,

Thanks for getting back to me, I have installed the update and it has appeared to have fixed something as it has gotten rid of the original error message. However I now have a new error message, which is:

Your registration was failure
Reason
Transaction refused due to risk model

Do you know what this error message may be in relation to.

Honestly, I am unsure about that error message. It is returned by PayPal, so only PayPal knows about it

Maybe you can test it directly with a small transaction in live mode?

I have tried it live and still having a few issues, but I think it is all Paypals side now.

OK Daniel

Just please note that PayPal Pro is only available for using in some countries like US, UK, Canada, Australia... so, you won't be able to use it if you are not from these countries

Also, PayPal will charges you monthly fee for using it, so mostly, you will need to have them enable it for you to use it
