Managing registrants was created by Web Manager
I'm having some issues getting my head around managing registrants.

Our events are free but there are restrictions as to who can attend.

Ideally we want a person to register and receive a holding email informing them that their application is being reviewed. Notification is then sent to the admin who can approve or reject their application - this should be a simple case of clicking one of two buttons, with an automated email being sent.

If the application to attend the event is approved, then the approval email should attach their ticket.

Problems
Attaching a ticket seems to be a binary thing. Either it's on or off, it can't be off for the first stage and on for an approved status email.

We would have to manually download the ticket and create an email outside of the event booking system, which sort of defeats some of the purpose of the system.

If we do send out a ticket immediately with all applications and rely on deleting or cancelling the status of the attendee, this does not affect their status when they try to check in with the ticket. The message reads that they are successfully checked in, even if they have been deleted or their status changed to cancelled.

Can you please let me know if I'm missing something or whether there is a better way of achieving what we require.

Many thanks.

Andrew

Hi

Before answering your question, could you please let us know what's the payment methods you are using for taking payment on your site? Or your events are free?

BTW, check-in should not be possible with cancelled or deleted registrants

Hi

I think the easiest way would be modify code so that when someone registers for the event, their registration status is not Active/Paid by default, it should remain Pending, so no tickets will be generated at the time of registration

You can then check the registration record, then approve it later (change status to active). At that time, tickets will be sent to registrants

If that sound OK to you, you can submit a support ticket sending us super admin account, we can help with this modification

Regards,

Tuan
