CAUTION: It is too bad that the upgrade restores all defaults to css, languages and files. If you have done any styling installing this upgrade erases all that work and you will need to do it all over again.

I hope you can get figure out the programming to handle upgrades more easily.

Hi

In the next release, I will keep the list of modified file and release it as a update package from version x to version y (like how Joomla upgrade works) .

For now, If you have modified language file, or the css file, you need to back up these files first before the upgrade. After upgrading, you can upload the these modified files again to server .

Thanks, I did the manual upload of the upgrade as you described and everything installed just fine. But now I can not save edited events or save new events. After editing description of an event and saving, the edits do not appear. After adding a new event and saving, no new event appears.

Any suggestions?

Hi Annie

It must be something special with your site. Other customers had upgraded it without any problem. In this case, please submit a support ticket contains administrator account and FTP account of your site so that I can check it for you .

PROBLEMS

1. Does everyone need to install mod_eb_categories? readme_first.txt doesn't mention this file

2. If I click on a registrant to change some data and then Save, AND if there is a Custom Field, a second copy of the custom field is written to t0r4j_eb_field_values. This causes some strange things in SQL queries. I believe this problem existed in earlier versions also.

3. Some entries in t0r4j_eb_registrants do not show up on the Registrants listing. They are also not counted against the capacity. BUT they are really in the MySQL database. Is there some test of an item in the database that causes the person to be ignored?

4. I tried to figure out how to allow a registrant to cancel (or for an admin person to cancel the registrant). I set up a menu entry to Registrationcancel > Default Layout. There was nothing to indicate what registrant or even what event in setting up the menu entry. When I clicked on this menu entry, I was informed "Your Registration has been Canceled " (or some such). Fortunately, nothing had been canceled that I could see. How do we use this new feature?

..... More generally, I feel I desperately need some documentation. I cannot figure our how the new menu entries for registrants work or chat they are supposed to do. My clients are confused on what emails are sent to what people and when. Tuan, you do a fantastic job of rapidly solving problems and putting in features. I would suggest that you might step back a bit, slow down on some of the wish lists, have some beta testing, and write down how things work. I personally would prefer a solid, commercial-grade product that I understand and that does 90% of what I want over all the bells and whistles that I can't figure out.

=> It is a module used to show list of events categories in a module. It is optional (infact, only com_eventbooking.zip are mandoratory).

=> I just checked again and didn't see the problem like you said. The data saves properly (it is updated to the registration record) and there are no duplicate records in the database table like you said.

=> That's how the extension designed and worked. The registration records are only showed if the registrant PAID for their registration. If it is not paid (for example, just tested the registration process, don't redirect to Paypal to process payment), the registration record won't be showed.

=> You need to create a menu item to link to history view (to show registration history of a user). Users will go there, see list of his registration record. After that, he can click on the record to edit the record information and see a cancel button (if admin allows cancel registration) to cancel registration .

=> Since the new version releases, I am still busy with something and haven't had time to updated the document for the extension yet. I will spend this weekend to update the document. And of course, I did test it before releasing new version, just haven't updated the tutorial documents yet .

Hi Annie

You forgot to do the last step in manual upgrade process :

6. Type in the URL : yourdomain.com/administrator/index.php?o...ing&task=upgrade then press enter (replace yourdomain.com with your site domain)


Because you forgot to do this step, the database structure was not updated and there were error like you said. I did this last step for you and everything works properly now .
