Today , I just releases the next version of Event Booking extension, version 1.2.0. This version has tons of new nice features and It is a big enhancement compare to the previous version of the extension. Below are the new nice features which are added to version 1.2.0 :
1. Recurring (repeating) events :
- You now can create recurring events easily. The extension supports 3 types of recurring events :
+ Daily recurring : You can create events which occurs everyday, every 2 days... and so on !
+ Weekly recurring : You can create events which occurs everyweek on certain days. For example, every occurs on Monday and Wednesday every week, events which occurs on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturdays every 2 weeks....
+ Monthly recurring : You can create events which occrues on certain days in a month, for example, events occurs at 10 and 15 every month, every which are occurs at 7, 14, 21 every 2 months ......
2. Coupon code feature : You can now create coupon code from back-end of the extension and send these coupon codes to your customers so that they get discount while registering for your events. Coupon code can give discount by amount or by percent of total registration code, can be used for one specify event or for all events....
3. Early bird discount : You can now setup early bird discount so that users will get discount if they register for the events before a certain date .
4. Manage registrants from front-end : Admin can allow certain users (configurable from back-end) to manage registrants from front-end (in case admin don't want them to be able to access to back-end to manage registrants).
5. Registration history : Users can now login to your site to access to registration history and edit registration record from front-end of your site .
6. Cancel registration : Administrator can allows users to be able to cancel their registration before a certain date .
7. Social sharing : Integrating facebook like buttons and other buttons to enhance social sharing. Users can share the events with other users on social sites. By this way, your events are more popular and can be visited by many other users.
8. Invite function : The function is integrated so that users can invite their friends to view and register for this event .
9. Auto reminder feature : Remind registrants about the event before X days the event occur.
10. Option to order events by Event Date instead of ordering .
11. Events Categories module to display list of categories in a module .
12. Search plugins to allows events to be seachable via Joomla standard search .
There are also the features which are in latest download package of version 1.1.0 but they were not available at the time version 1.1.0 released (they were added from time to time) :
1. Improve to google map : Event Booking integrate with Google Map to show location of event in a map. There are some improvements to this function :
- You can now control the width, height, zoom level of the map. These parameters can be changed from configuration of the extension. They are hard coded before .
- The google map API is updated to version 3. Now, there is no need to register for a Google Map API key like in the previous version .
2. Option to hide past events : By default, the events are showed until you unpublish them. Now, in the configuration area, you can choose to Hiede Past Events. if this config option set to Yes, all the past events will be hided automaticalled.
3. Setting at Event Level :
- Now, you can set up Paypal Email, Notification Emails, Thanks Message, Confirmation Email message on Event Edit/New screen. If one of these information are left empty, the default configuration from configuration area will be used .
To upgrade to new version of the extension, please login to your account, access to Orders History to download the latest version of the extension and update to your site.
