How to edit Event submission form layout? was created by Kotisivutohtori
Hi,
we would like to edit the event submission page layout. Even when we have chosen the simple layout (not default), the submission form is still too "big" / too many fields.
Things we would like to be able to do:
- hide additional categories or even hide all categories and just use default category
- hide event alias (and let the title become an alias by default)
- hide "first booking date" and let the booking happen immediately
- hide "price written"
- Hide method of booking (and only accept single bookings)
- hide speaker
- hide number hours
- hide acccess (admin will do that)
- hide registration access (admin will do that)
- hide publised (admin will do that)
How can we achieve this? Does this support template override? If we hide all those fields, will the new event still be created (what fields are required?).

Hi Anne
You will need to modify the code of the field components/com_eventbooking/view/event/tmpl/simple.php to remove the fields you don't want
The extension support template override, so you can move that modified file to PATH_TO_TEMPLATE/html/com_eventbooking/event folder so that it won't be lost when you update
Some notes:
1. Only title, category, event date, short description, description are the required fields
2. For the field like access, registration access, published, you can go to Events Booking -> Configuration, Other settings section, set default value for these settings and these new events will have that value (so that admin doesn't have to change it)
Regards,
Tuan

Great! Sounds good!
How do I set a default-category? Or order of the categories in the dropdown list?

Hi Anne
1. There is no option for setting default category. Users will have to choose it manually when submitting event
2. Ordering of categories could not be changed, it is ordered by Name (so that users can easy to find the category they want by name)
