Term booking v Single Class was created by Paul Andrews
Hi Tuan
How would be the best way for me to do the following:
A yoga teacher sells classes either individually or a participant can purchase an entire term for a discount. Is it possible on the registration form for their to be two buttons - register single class and register term in which case the user is then booked into all repeats of that class?

Hello Paul
It is not possible. At the moment, we don't have an option to allow booking for all events in one repeat
So maybe you will have to create a separate event as a term event. Basically, when someone books that event, you can treat them as booking all repeating classes somehow (I don't have any experience of this concept, so I don't know if it works)
Another option would be enable shopping cart feature so that users can add any events they want into cart, then process checkout
Regards,
Tuan

Yeah, at the moment I've created two categories, one is the whole term at the discount price and the other category is the individual classes. I have enabled shopping cart but it's a bit user unfriendly to have the select the 10 classes to the cart.
I guess an option on repeat events to book all repeats is the way to handle it going forward or even enable grouping of the events via a related tag/field and all items with that tag are booked at one.

That's actually quite difficult to implement and not many customers need it, so I will leave it to future development

Tuan, so I can present this as an option to a couple of clients who use this can I speak to you about the possibility of developing this and costs involved. Shoot me an email or we can skype if you prefer. On my first use of your system, I really like it but have a few ideas for either private development or feature requests.

Thanks Tuan, you're welcome, I'll be contributing ideas a lot, thanks for adding the ones I've bought up so far. Excellent service!
The idea I had about 'term bookings' would work something like this.
1. Events and repeats are created - or have a system like tags that enables events to be grouped. This creates the 'term'
2. Two registration buttons or options (or whatever flow works best) one is book single event, the other is book all events (so all repeats or all with the same tag).
3. Allow a discounting system, so set a price for the entire term but also allow mid term bookings to pay the same reduced rate pro-rata to the number of events left.
This would be a brilliant tool and even enable sales of 'related events' similar to related products in a store.
Maybe a number of us who want this feature could crowd source it to help with development costs.

While my "term" requirement is different to yours ( I don't accept individual event registrations, for example), I think that a lot of the core functionality would be very similar.
Have a look at www.joomdonation.com/forum/events-bookin...f-events.html#104096 for my requirements for a term of events.

Donal
