Payment Plugin Development

We have developed a custom payment plugin for EB. Everything is working fine.
However, we ended up modifying two core files of EB to make it work, and I would like to get opinion from experts if there is any way to get it working without modifying core files, may be by some sort of overriding:

(1) media\com_eventbooking\assets\js\paymentmethods.js file

(2) components\com_eventbooking\view\register\tmpl\register_payment_methods.php file
I suppose I will have to use the template override for this.

1=> It is not possible to override that file at the moment

2=> Yes, you can use override, move the file to PATH_TO_TEMPLATE/html/com_eventbooking/register folder
