Payment status in frontend

Hi - is it possible to alter the payment status in the frontend?

I am running bookings for an event which will only use offline payment, with a deposit being collected and then full payment made later. All payments will be handled by cash/cheque outside of Events booking. However we want to use events booking to manage and record all the registration info.
All the bookings will be taken will be group bookings.

Upon registering all details are stored properly and as expected set to status pending as expected.

From the admin interface I can record the deposit payments by changing payment status to deposit paid/full payment etc.

I have set up frontend access for registration management as we will have several non technically minded people helping run registrations. From the frontend I can see payment status displayed in the list view but there is no option to edit it and record the deposit payments.

Is there any way of achieving this? I have checked access levels etc and even with a superadmin logged in to frontend there is no way of modifying payment status.
This woud be a really useful feature.

We should be able to make small modification to the code to enable this feature. Could you please submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site and link to the page so that we can do this modification?

Will consider adding this change to core download package, too
