Undated Events for Pre-Booking was created by Chris Elliott
I would like to allow visitors to book onto an event whose date is unknown (yes, odd, I know) It's a means to gather interest for an event and, if enough registrations come in, we can then set a date.

Is there a means to do this? I did try to create an undated event but it failed.

Hope you can help?

All ok now - I found it.

If you use a date of 2099-12-31, then the date will show "To be confirmed" on the front end.

Perfect!

Yes. That is the solution. Not sure how you figured that out?

Hi Tuan,
Would it be feasible to add a checkbox next to the event date for "no date" (or something similar) that would 1) autofill the date to 2099-12-31 and 2) gray-out / disable the date field? Alternately, instead of using the 2099 date. the checkbox could become the control for this feature entirely (and a quick search for 2099-12-31 dates could be done when the user updates to the next version of EB in order to update existing event to use the checkbox). I think that a checkbox solution would be a much simpler than having to remember to input a specific date every time.

Hi James

That could be a solution. Or maybe just in case event date is empty, we will treat it as no date. Something for the next minir release 3.0.3

A downside that I have noted is that the Invoice [EVENT_DATE] and [EVENT_END_DATE] show 2099-12-31 and (because the End Date has to be left blank) Mon, 30 Nov -0001 12:00 am

Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Chris

Yes just updated the code which should fix this issue;

1. In case event date is 2099-12-31 , it will show to be confirmed (controlled by language item EB_TBC)

2. In case event end date is blank, [EVENT_END_DATE] will show blank text
