I'm the guy to hire when everything's on fire.
*SOLVED* Past events showing in list was created by Stan Bush
On this page
williamlbrownfarmmarket.com/market-hours
I have set the default to be '7 events'.
The idea being that it will always show the current and upcoming 6 events.
The events are all basically 'repeating".
Each day has been setup separately to give me more control for each day.
I have set the configuration to 'hide past events', but it does not work on this menu item.
It does work on the upcoming events modules on the sidebars for the other pages, but not on this page.
Where can I look?
and thanks again..

It's fixed. All I had to do was turn off the "Show Children Events Under Parents" box.

OK. Just for the information, when it is on, we need to show that parent event to allow users to click on to see children events of that parent event

Yes. I understand enabling it allows them to see the child events. It's not necessary for them to see anything but the current event.
