OK. Learning curve.
1. What template does the demo use?
2. How do I assign the modules? I'm currently assigning the menu item 'Events' to Events Booking and using Category Default layout.
Normally I'd simply assign a module to a position on my template. But this doesn't seem to work with EB....

I'm struggling. I'm a fairly good Joomla user, and I'm using Purity III responsive template. But I can't get this extension to work at all. Despite reading the documentation, I'm lost! The Demo looks great. But my attempt to configure it doesn't even show the location maps.
Is there an idiot's guide anywhere?
Welcome to the Idiot's Guide (aka the Forum)
For location map:
a) make sure you have the "Event Booking - Map Plugin" enabled in [Extensions -> Plugins] (see eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/miscell...s-plugins/map-plugin ); and
b) a location set in the event itself
I think that should get maps running...

1) Looking at the demo site's source code, it uses OSSolution's own template, eshop_fashion_pro
...which can be found/purchased here: www.joomdonation.com/joomla-templates/es...on-pro-template.html
2) You can just create a menu item like you have already said, and when you load that menu item, the Component should display. If you're setting things up by menu, then you're dealing with the Component display and not a Module display. EB does include some modules as well, but you'll find those in Joomla's [Extentions -> Modules].
You'll find that the development team is very helpful with questions on the forum as well. They are based in Vietnam, so you sometimes have to wait a day to see their response, but you can trust that it will come

Events Booking modules are nothing different from other modules. If you assign modules but it doesn't work for some reasons, there might be something wrong with your setup. You can submit a support ticket sending us super admin account of your site and tell us:
1. What module you want to assign
2. What position of the template you want assign the module too
We will check and make sure it works for you
