It is a part of the "Check-in Registrants using QRCode" feature (see
eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/advance...check-in-registrants
).
You can also toggle the field manually to track attendance (see eventbookingdoc.joomservices.com/advance...registrants-manually )

In addition to Jame's answers, if you don't need that feature, you can go to Events Booking -> Configuration, set the config option Activate Checkin Registrants to No. That will remove the Checked in Column in Registrants Management and save space
