Okay. I'm stumped.
Registrants have been contacting us over the past few days asking for details about events that they registered -- details that should have been emailed to them with their successful registration. So I started doing some test registrations just to see what was happening.
When I register using an email address from our domain (eg. something@sttherese.ca), the registration proceeds properly and email is sent to both the registrant (at the sttherese.ca email address) and the notification email address (also a sttherese.ca address).
But when I register using an non-StTherese.ca-domain address (eg. myPersonalAccount@gmail.com or myOtherPersonalAccount@yahoo.ca), I get the following error message.
The registrant does not receive an email, but thankfully the notification email address still does, so the problem is with outbound, off-domain emails.
Anyone have any thoughts as to what's going wrong???? This happens both on my live site ( www.StTherese.ca ) and on a fresh test install of the latest Joomla (standard installation with sample data) with the latest EventBooking ( www.j3fresh.sttherese.ca/index.php/upcoming-events ).

Hello James
For this, you would have to contact your hosting provider and ask them to check it for you. Events Booking uses Joomla API for sending email, Joomla then rely on the mail server of your hosting provider to deliver email to the actual email address
In your case, seems the server can only deliver to some emails, not other emails and your hosting provider will have to check it. They should be able to check and tell you the result why it doesn't work

My hosting provider was blocking unauthenticated mail to any domain other than domains registered to my account. Instead of using Joomla's default PHPMail for sending email, I had to set Joomla to use SMTP for sending emali, authenticating with a registered email account / password.
Emails are sending properly now.
